Lot tour: Faculty of Arts

September 2024

Faculty of Arts at Brixton University offers wide variety of education for artists. Currently there are five majors to choose from (Art History, Ceramics and Sculpture, Drawing, Painting and Photography).

First floor layout: professor's office, bathrooms, study hall, lecture hall, painting studio and lounge area.

Second floor layout: photography studio with darkroom, ceramics and sculpture studio, painting studio and gallery.

The lounge area is for students who wait for their lectures or just want to hang out at the faculty.

The professor's office.

The lecture hall.

The study hall with tons of art books.

The study hall has computers for students to write their term papers and assignments.

The drawing class room. This room is often used by the Ceramics and Sculpture students to work on their sketches.

The second floor has a small gallery to showcase the students' art. It's the start of a new semester so it's currently empty.

The painting class. Occasionally the students get to work with a live model but most of the times they paint statues and arrangements.

The pottery class.

The photography studio.Students can use the computer and tablet to modify their photos.

Students get to work on old fashioned film cameras as well as digital ones.

There's also a darkroom where students can develop the photos taken on film.

Notes:
  • Yay, second faculty building done! I needed this for my next update (Josh, Lilly and Zach) so I had to finish it. The update should be coming in a few days.
  • Hopefully I'll have more time for my sims in the next few weeks. It's been quite a hectic spring for me and I still have 3 weeks before my summer holiday starts but other than that things seem to be slowing down now.

    1. Thank you. I'm quite happy with how it turned out and I can't wait to start building the next one - I just haven't decided which one I'm going to build next.

      Thanks for looking. :)

  2. Looks great! I really love the lounge area and the sofa recolors on it, very eclectic! The dark room is perfect, makes me miss when I had access to one, way back before all these digital photos. Looking forward to seeing it in action with Josh, Lilly, and Zach!

    1. I wanted the lounge to look colourful without using too much colour so I played around with the sofa, lol.

I like the darkroom too. It's a lot bigger than the one we had at the arts & crafts school back in the days!

It didn't get as much action as I had planned but I'm sure I'll use it plenty of times in future updates.

      Thanks for looking. :)

    1. The photography room is my favourite too. I probably spent most time decorating it because I wanted it to be perfect.

I really enjoy building the faculties, something I didn't expect to happen but I'm glad it did. It makes it so much easier to build when I'm enjoying it.

      Thanks for looking. :)

  4. This looks awesome, Sari! I love the dark room as well but the whole place is great. I love the clean white walls and floors all the way through, with the splashes of pink and red.

    1. I though that the Faculty of Arts should look colourful but at the same time I didn't want it to look too messy. I love those simple painted walls that I downloaded recently, I love the clean look they give to a room. I'm very happy with how the whole building turned out and hope to use it a lot in the future.

      Thanks for looking. :)

  5. It looks really nice! I can't wait for the gallery to be filled with the student's work! It's going to fun to fill it up :)

The dark room is a really nice idea, I wouldn't have thought about that!

    1. Thanks. I have to take my students to the faculty more so that I can get something to display in the gallery.

I knew I wanted a dark room and was so happy to find the items at MTS.

      Thanks for looking. :)
