Apparently there was a mix-up thanks to my unisex name and my student info said I was a female... so naturally I was also assigned a female room mate. It was a pretty awkward first couple of weeks. I ended up sleeping on the floor of Sara's room most nights so my room mate could have the room for herself. Luckily they were able to correct the situation pretty quickly. While I was okay with the thought of having a room mate, I got to say I'm happy I have my own room now.

Frieda has been bugging us about throwing a party and this semester our schedules finally aligned enough that we actually could. We also wanted to welcome Riley to university so we decided to throw a joined birthday party for him and me. Throwing a party at a dorm is not exactly acceptable but people do it anyway because usually the RAs let it slide. We only invited Frieda's boyfriend Blake, Sara and Riley and also Frieda's nephew Todd and his girlfriend Skye. Mind you, Todd and Skye are only 16 but we figured our party would be tame enough for highschoolers.

I feel like I'm more used to the gruelling schedule now than I was during my first semester. I used to be totally exhausted every night but I've worked out a system that works for me. After our midday practise I often come back to the dorm, get some lunch and take a nap.

I don't have any sisters so I wasn't really prepared to all the aspects of living with girls. I mean, I thought pillow fights only happened in movies but I've witnessed Emily and Frieda having pillow fights in their underwear at least twice. Whenever I catch them they just laugh and ask me to join them!

I was kind of surprised how much theory we have to study in addition to the grueling dance rehearsals every day. I try to stay on top of everything but I have to admit I'm exhausted most nights. It feels like all my dorm mates are out partying every night while I go to bed at 8 p.m. I live with a bunch of strangers since I was assigned to a different dorm than Frieda, Emily and Aaron.

I lost my dad just a few months ago. The hurt is still so raw that sometimes it feels like I can't breathe. Like I'm moving through a fog and I can't see anything. I don't know what I'd do without Aaron and Emily. They can understand what I'm going through so they know when to leave me alone or when to smother me with love. We're quite an unusual bunch of teenagers because we've all had so much grief in our lives.

Josh living with us has gone much better than I expected. He's surprisingly tidy and he's willing to babysit whenever we ask if he doesn't have classes.

I've been trying very hard to concentrate on my studies but I'm very easily distracted with thoughts of Emily. It feels weird to feel this way about her because we've been friends for so long and she used to be my brother's girlfriend.

It's my senior year and I feel like I live and breath classes, assignments and term papers. The professors warned us about the work load and they were right! We're swamped but at the same time I really enjoy it because I know that next year I'll be qualified to teach - in case I actually get a job.

Dawn and Finn asked me to live with them this year so I could get out of the dorm. I didn't have to think for long before I accepted their offer. I was surprised but Finn explained that Dawn felt sorry for me after hearing the whole story about my roommate-from-hell situation. As much as I hate feeling like a charity case I'm still happy to be able to breath again. Dawn works long hours at her mom's restaurant so it's not like I'm in her way a lot anyway.

Aaron, Frieda and I managed to get into the same dorm and Frieda and I even share a room. It makes it easier to live with a bunch of strangers when there's two people I've known since I was a kid.

Unfortunately it turned out that Finn is allergic to birds. Soon after we bought Polly he started sneezing and coughing. One morning he woke up with both his eyes swollen shut. He got tested and he's allergic to birds and rodents which rules out getting a guinea pig as well.

I think Josh's actions have really come to bite him in the ass this semester. He's obviously lost interest in Madison but her boyfriend (ex or current, I can't even tell anymore) Elliot can't seem to let go. He's acting like everything that happened was Josh's fault even though everyone knows it was Madison who made the first move.

To make matters worse they are roommates so it's pretty much impossible for Josh to avoid Elliot completely.

Shea's been begging us to get a pet. She'd love a dog or a cat but I think at this point she'd settle for any kind of pet. The other day she managed to catch some butterflies into a jar and said they're her pets. She put the jar on the kitchen counter and just stared at it for minutes.

It's been a bit awkward living under the same roof with Josh since the break-up. Zach sometimes tries to be some sort of buffer between us but other times he's so distracted with his studies that he barely notices other people.

It was Zach's idea that I could become Eve's roommate when Kaitlyn moves out. It's sort of a win-win situation for everyone and I'm pretty excited about getting out of the dorm and into the real world.

Things have been going really well with Lilly but I just feel restless sometimes. There's a part of me that wonders if this is all that life has to offer for me. I love Lilly but the idea of being with just one person all my life - it just doesn't feel right anymore.
