I've been working really hard for good grades lately. Mom and dad finally allowed me to start proper dance lessons this autumn but I can only continue them if I manage to keep my grades up. It's not exactly ballet but it's a good start.

I'm starting to see that our first semester was sort of a soft landing into university. The teachers are starting to build up pressure now that we're starting our second semester. It feels like I have even less free time but I still make Shea my main priority. I can always study longer but I'm not willing to lose precious moments with my daughter. I was so afraid of how we'd make it but so far it's been great. I spend the morning with her and then head off to classes when the nanny comes.

Mom and dad flipped out big time when they heard in the summer that I hadn't registered a major yet. I told them that I was going to do it anyway in the beginning of autumn semester but they seemed convinced that I was just slacking off. So I decided to prove them wrong and registered for Physics and Premedicine. I know I have to work my ass off to get into med school after graduation so I thought I'd better start already.

Our kids are not so little anymore. The twins are independent enough to get themselves and James breakfast after Sam and I have gone to work. In the beginning of their summer holiday I tried waking them up before I left for work but they kept whining about having to get up so early. Now I just let them sleep.

Toby moved in with me and Iona about a year ago and it's been going really great. It was a bit strange at first because I had gotten so used to living alone with Iona but I wouldn't have it any other way now. Iona's excited to have her favorite chess partner living with us all the time.

It's my last year in high school and I'm working my butt off. I usually stay up quite late to finish my homework because I don't have the time to do it before heading off to work. All my hard work has paid off though because not only was I accepted into Brixton University but I also got five scholarships!

Finn told us a couple of months ago that he's not going to college at all. We were hoping he'd want a higher education but he's set his goal on the culinary career and says that at this point a college degree would be useless for him. He says that he can always get the college degree later in his life if he feels like it. He's still working hard to get good grades though so we can't really complain much. He also got an after school job at Café Carousel.

Brooke has been pretty tense lately. I thought it might be because of work but one day during dinner she finally blurted out that she wants children.

"You mean right now?" I asked. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. Then she got up from the table and went to do the dishes. Apparently my attempt to humor wasn't so impressive to her. I've always thought that children are a definite part of our future. I guess she needed me to say it out loud.
