I've been trying to convince Jack for months that he needs to hire someone to help on the farm. I have a full-time job, Todd's too young and Frieda's getting ready for college. So many nights I go to bed, fall asleep and then wake up without him there. Then I go downstairs and see that he's fallen asleep on the sofa.

Luckily we have a doctor in the family and Grace assured me - and Elissa - that it was just a regular flu and that I just needed to rest.

I'm a stay-at-home dad now. Dixie stayed home with Liana for the first 6 months and now it's my turn. We'll most likely put her in day care after her birthday but for now it's been really great spending so much time with her and getting to know her.

Charlie is impressed with Brooke's zen-like attitude towards the birth of their baby. Maybe it's the yoga classes she took during the pregnancy or maybe it's just the fact that she's finally going to have the baby she's been hoping for so long. Whatever it is, she's perfectly calm.

Josh is constantly surrounded by the girls that live in our dorm. It wouldn't bother me at all if he wasn't my cousin's boyfriend. I know he probably wouldn't go any further than flirting but he should at least have the decency to do it somewhere else.

We thought that the worst was over with Emily grieving over Ethan's death but it seems that she has just scratched the surface. She started school with everyone else and we haven't heard anything from the teachers so apparently she's doing well there. She got a couple of weeks off work but she's been back there for months now and says it's going fine. But in the evenings she just sulks in her room and only comes downstairs for dinner and that's just because we order her to join us. She's not even spending time with her sister anymore which is really worrying.

Every night we hear her listen to the same song with really haunting lyrics over and over again.
