Here's the third and last part of my Liebster Award answers, these questions are by Maisie at Millwood.
1. What is your favorite part of your sims & your neighborhood?
How it's all connected. All my households know each other in some way. I also like the genetic diversity in my hood although I went a little overboard with redheads when I was creating the first sims.
2. What are you really good at, be in regards to the game, real life, work, anything?
This is a really difficult question because I'm used to thinking that I'm not good at anything. I'd like to think that I'm a good listener when a friend needs someone to talk to. I also think I'm pretty good at my job although I often say that a monkey could do what we do and for a smaller salary LOL. The last time I sang karaoke a complete stranger came up to my table afterwards and told me I have a really good voice so I guess I'm at least a decent singer.
3. How do you relax or unwind after a trying day?
Netflix and naps. It works every time. Taking a walk in the forest also helps but I'm too scared to go there nowadays because we've had sightings of bears!
4. Favorite vacation or vacation you’d love to take?
Probably visiting Rome, Italy with my mom a few years ago. She'd always wanted to go there so I'm happy that I got to fulfill that dream.
5. What projects do you have planned or hope to accomplish for your game?
I would really like to finish my university building project some day. That's my main goal at the moment. That and to actually play and update my blog...
6. How large is your sims CC folder?
3.81 GB. I had no idea it was that big because I'm kind of picky nowadays when it comes to adding stuff to my game.
7. What is your blogging and playing process? (Write first, plan, play first…)
Something in between. Sometimes I plan ahead a lot and sometimes I just let my sims run rampant and sit back to see what happens. Completely unplanned play sessions have become a rarity though because I usually have at least a vague idea of what the update will be about.
8. What is your favorite family tradition ether now, or from childhood?
Picking a Christmas tree with my dad when I was a kid. We have a little forest next to our house and we sometimes walked for hours before we found the perfect one. Then we decorated it together in the morning of December 24th while my mom was making rice pudding.
9. Where do you find your inspiration for buildings (community/residential) that you build/decorate?
I often look for inspiration online. For residential buildings I often use an existing floor plan as a base to help me get started. With community lots I just look at pictures of similar buildings to get ideas. Sometimes I buy gardening magazines in hopes that I'll actually do landscaping some day - either in game or in real life!
10. Favorite pizza toppings?
Ground beef, ham and pineapple.
11. What’s your favorite season in real life and in the sims game?
Probably spring for both. Although I find it really hard to pick a favourite in real life because I love the four seasons we have in Finland.

The Liebster Award - Fini's questions
Here's the second part of my Liebster Award answers, these questions are by Fini at Newtopia Heights.
1. Who is your greatest writing inspiration? (it doesn’t have to be a sim writer)
I am constantly inspired by other sim bloggers but the two people who inspired me to start writing anything at all were my Finnish teachers in high school.
2. What made you start blogging?
I answered this in my answers to Carla's questions.
3. What are your favorite things to do other than simming?
I love watching movies and tv shows either on tv or on Netflix. I've had Netflix for a few months and it has taken over my life LOL. I also like doing crafts, knitting mostly. I live in the countryside and I love going on long walks in the forest.
4. What influences your writing style?
Mostly the household I'm writing about and especially the sim whose POV I write the update from.
5. Which sims game is your favorite?
TS2 without a doubt. I haven't touched TS1 since TS2 was released, I've only briefly played TS3 and I haven't tried TS4 yet. TS2 has been around for so long and I've built up my game with mods and other CC so it's exactly how I like it to be.
6. Are any of your sims based on someone in real life?
Not really. I do take some tips about how teenagers behave by watching my nieces.
7. When did you start playing?
The Sims when the first game came out. Video games in general, I can't even remember... probably around the time I was 5-6 or something and me and my brother got our first Commodore 64. :)
8. When did you start blogging?
In December 2008.
9. What inspiration have you had from other blogs?
I have gotten a lot of the rules in Wellington from other blogs, either I use them as they are or adapt them to fit Wellington. Often reading other sim blogs also gets me in the mood to play and blog especially if I'm going through a dry spell.
10. Are there any activities in the sims you haven’t gotten to yet?
The whole supernatural world! I've toyed with the idea of a fantasy hood from time to time but I've never gotten around to do it. I doubt I ever will as I don't have enough time to play Wellington let alone adding another hood to play.
11. Where would you live if you could live anywhere?
I'd probably still live where I live now, in a small village in a small town in the northern Finland. But if I had a lot of money I'd renovate our house completely, build a stable and buy a pony! I'm a country girl at heart and can't really see myself living in a big city.

The Liebster Award
I was nominated for a Liebster Award by three amazing bloggers: Carla at Sullivan, Fini at Newtopia Heights and Maisie at Millwood. This was such a lovely surprise and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
It's a pay-it-forward sort of thing, so nominees are supposed to nominate others in turn. These are the rules.
1. Put the award on your blog
2. Thank the blogger who nominated you
3. Nominate 5 to 11 other blogs
4. Answer the 11 questions that were asked
5. Then ask the people you nominate, 11 questions.

Money for nothing, 2025
This is the first tax season with the new governor Denise Cooper. She's taking the opportunity to meet residents of each household in the Wellington District to make sure everyone can pay their taxes in the most convenient way possible. She doesn't want to run any family into debt because of poor payment planning.

Money for nothing, 2023
It's tax season in the Wellington District. This time the residents pay 10% of their total household value after deductions.

Playable NPCs
The playable NPCs are usually either ex-partners of my playable sims, current partners who aren't serious enough to move in with my playables yet or townies who have fallen in love on their own via ACR.
I play the households every round and sometimes take pictures and post them on tumblr. All big announcements (engagements, marriages etc.) will be made in the Wellington Gazette.

Notes:
- This is the faculty system for Brixton University. I don't use any custom majors so each of the "imaginary" majors is linked to at least one default game major.
- Students in the Faculty of Consumer Sciences get education in their chosen field but their education also includes business studies in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
- Building the university is an ongoing project and I will add photos and/or edit the information when needed.

Hacks, programs and other tools
I have a ridiculous amount of hacks in my game so I'm only listing ones that really make a difference. I'm also listing other tools that make simming and blogging a lot easier for me.
THE Hacks
ACR 2.0 - this hack pretty much runs the romantic life of my sims
Antiredundancy, nodormieregen, nossrespawn, nostrayrespawn and notownieregen - essential if you want to create a hood with empty templates, stops the game from generating unnecessary NPCs.
Cyjon's Loan Jar - I use this for loans since I like that it lets you set the interest rate
Insimenator - very useful! I've only started using InSim quite recently but already I couldn't play without it.
Inteenimator - enables teen pregnancy and also has a good birth control system
Monique's computer, updated for AL by Chaavik - I handle almost all finances in Wellington with this wonderful computer, a must-have for hoods that have some sort of economical system
Other hacks I use
Age group tweak
Apartment hack
College Adjuster
Community lot skilling
Days left shrub
Expanded and reduced LTW
Harder jobs
Inge Jones' playable school - community lot school tutorial by Carla here
Male bodyhair overlays - fixed version here
Monique's child support
No 20k handouts
Phone hack
Real sickness - make sure to download the mod in this post, not the first post of the thread
SimBlender
Summer vacation
Visitor Controller
Programs and other tools
SimPE - how did we simmers ever survive before this program was created? LOL
SimCamera - the good ol' picture-taking program which I still use to take all my screencaps
FlashNote - a very handy program which I use to track down everything that happens in Wellington
RandomStuff by Hook - wonderful little program that I use nowadays instead of rolling a dice for everything, ie. ROS, baby naming, aspirations etc.
ilmainensanakirja.fi - an online dictionary which I use frequently when I'm writing the blog updates (since English is not my first language)

Notes:
Notes:
- I have lots of overrides for the default careers so the career levels in the sims' profiles may sound odd to you. For example the Dance career in Wellington concentrates solely on ballet and the Politics career is based on how a political career would go in Finland because it makes more sense to me. I've started adding the career level number in the profiles so you'll know how high the sim is in their career.

Rules and Regulations
These are the current rules and regulations in Wellington. I try to keep this post up-to-date. In order to keep this post somewhat readable I have written separate posts for subjects that require long and rambling explanations.

Aspirations
Aspirations are assigned based on childhood wants, interests and personality. Sims get their second aspiration around ages 16-21 and it's based on their wants, interests, personality and lifetime want. Lifetime wants are kind of irrelevant for me because I don't like them to dictate the sim's life too much for two reasons. The career LTW's don't always make sense and I prefer to use other methods on choosing a career for a sim. Some non-career lifetime wants are just kind of crazy.

Expanded Genetics and Height
DNA
Eye-sight, freckles and hairiness are genetically inheritable features. Each sim has their own DNA which determines their need for glasses, whether they have freckles and how hairy they are. I got the inspiration from Carla who got the inspiration from Simmerville @ Sims Daily. The way DNA (at least for sims) works is explained superbly by Simmerville in their post.
Glasses
GG = needs glasses all the time
Gg = will need glasses at some point (usually when they turn 45)
gg = doesn't need glasses
Freckles
FF = two or more sets of freckles
Ff = one set of freckles
ff = no freckles
Hairiness (this affects male sims)
HH = thick facial hair, hairy body
Hh = some facial hair, some body hair
hh = little or no facial and body hair, thin eyebrows
Height
Height is inherited via eye colour. I have three height groups for adult sims (short, average and tall). A child inherits their height group from the parent (or grandparent) whose eye colour they inherit.

Maternal, Paternal and Parental Leaves
Maternal leave starts 1 month prior to due date and lasts until baby is 3 months.
Parental leave starts after maternity leave ends and lasts for 6 months. Either parent can take the parental leave.
Paternity leave is one month and can be taken any time from when the baby is born to when the baby turns 6 months old.
Finances
Bank accounts
All sims can have a bank account via Monique's computer.
Child support
Child support is handled by Monique's Child Support hack. No download link available.
Loans and mortgages
Loans and mortgages are handled via Cyjon's Loan Jar. The current interest rate is 3%.
Real estate
In real life location is a big factor in property values which means that identical houses in two different areas are most likely prized differently. Therefore I've decided to either increase or decrease the prizes of houses depending on the part of the hood they are located in. This won't affect current home owners, only future buyers.
Taxes
Taxes are collected once every two years. Households will pay a percentage of their total value including cash, bank balance and lot value. The current tax rate is 5 %.
Sims can claim deductions which are:
Driving License
Vehicles cost money to drive

University admissions
After trying several different ways to determine which sims are accepted into university I've finally settled on a system adapted from the systems created by Laurel Crossing, Apple Valley and Sullivan.
I use Wellington Aptitude Score (WAS) to determine acceptance into Brixton University. WAS is calculated for each sim at the age of 16 or 17 (depending on the last time I play their household before they turn 18). WAS not only determines whether a sim is accepted into university but also the amount of tuition they play.
For sims applying for postgraduate studies I use Undergraduate Aptitude Score (UAS) which is calculated after university graduation.

Undergraduate admissions
- 40 WAS points to enroll
- 55 WAS points for half-tuition (if not gained by a scholarship)
- 70 WAS points and a grade of A+ at high school graduation (= Wellington Scholar's Grant), sim pays no tuition
Wellington Aptitude Score points
Hobbies
- 1 WAS point per enthusiasm point in any hobby
- 1 additional point for any maxed out hobbies
Skills
- 1 WAS point per skill point in each skill
- 1 additional point for a maxed out skill
Grades
- 10 WAS points for an A grade
- 5 WAS points for a B grade
- 3 WAS points for a C grade
Badges
- 10 WAS points for a Gold Badge
- 5 WAS points for a Silver Badge
- 3 WAS points for a Bronze Badge
Extra skills
- 1 WAS point for each skill
- Parenting, Fire Safety, Anger Management, Lifelong Happiness, Physiology and Couples Counseling
Teen jobs
- 1 WAS point for a Level 3 teen job
Postgraduate admissions
- 30 UAS points to enroll (this may change later)
Undergraduate Aptitude Score
Undergraduate GPA
- 10 UAS points for 4.0
- 5 UAS points for 3.7-3.9
- 3 UAS points for 3.4-3.6
- 1 UAS point for of 3.2-3.3
Entrance Examination
- career specific skills (counting 2 skills with the highest points)
- Master of Architecture: mechanical, logic, creativity
- Master of Education: charisma, logic, cleaning
- Master of Laws: charisma, logic, cleaning
- Master of Psychology: charisma, logic
- Doctor of Medicine: mechanical, logic, cleaning
- Doctor of Science: cooking, logic, cleaning
- 1 UAS point per skill point (20 UAS points is maximum)
Faculty Interview
- 4 points per reputation stage, negative reputation results in minus points
Notes:
- With the postgraduate admissions I tried to come up with a system that wasn't identical to the undergraduate admissions. I also emphasized the meaning of the entrance exam and interview so that students who didn't do so well in college could still have a chance to study for a Master's degree or Doctorate if they're otherwise suitable for their chosen field.
