Tom Patterson has been in this situation two times before - waiting for his baby to be born - but it doesn't get any easier to see Dixie in pain. It feels like she's been in labour for hours and hours and he's beginning to think that something might be wrong. However Dr. Williams is the epitome of calm and assures Tom that everything is going very well.

Dixie doesn't particularly enjoy this part of pregnancy but she's been here before so she's just trying to relax and breath. "Come on Tom, just hold my hand and think of the end result" Dixie says and Tom swallows his fears and does as he's told. Once things start happening, they happen quite fast and soon Dixie and Tom welcome their baby boy into the world

Dixie's pregnancy has advanced to third trimester. Liana can't wait for the baby to arrive. She's hoping for a little brother since she already has a little sister. She's a bit disappointed when her mom explains to her that they can't really choose whether it's a boy or a girl.

Liana still wants to know everything about babies and where they come from. Dixie tries to distract her by reading her a book but the questions are neverending. Finally Dixie tells Liana to ask her dad because she's running out of things to say.

• Just a little birthday update. The baby is due in June 2027 so Dixie and Tom still have a lot of time to answer all of Liana's questions, LOL.

Dixie and Tom had talked about a third child but they weren't actively trying so baby #3 comes as a bit of a surprise. It doesn't really matter though because they are extremely happy and can't wait to see whether their daughters Liana and Janelle will get a baby sister or brother. The baby is due in June 2027.

Dixie doesn't remember having any specific cravings during her previous pregnancies but now all she wants to eat is anything spicy and hot. Tom tries not to complain but it gets a bit boring to have chili con carne for every meal.

Tom and I decided it's about time to take a little vacation - just the two of us. On our honeymoon we just drove up to my parents' cabin for a couple of days but this time we decided we needed a change of scenery so we booked flights and a room in a fancy hotel at Shirakawa Village.

Eve Midlock has pretty much come to terms with the idea of becoming a mother in a few months. Her roommate Lilly is ok with living with an infant so Eve has decided to stay put and not make any decisions about the future before the birth of her child.

Janelle Patterson celebrates her first birthday and has turned out to be the spitting image of her father Tom.

Notes:

• Eve's third trimester update comes a month early but it seemed reasonable to combine these two short updates into one. I decided to keep Eve living in the apartment with Lilly for now. I'll promote Gabriel (baby daddy) to a playable NPC but I honestly don't know what to do with these two yet.
• I don't care that Janelle looks exactly like Tom because she looks so cute anyway. I always find it hard to choose a hairstyle for a toddler because very long and full hair doesn't seem too realistic for a 1-year-old but I've thrown caution to the wind and just choose whatever I like.

I'm a stay-at-home dad now. Dixie stayed home with Liana for the first 6 months and now it's my turn. We'll most likely put her in day care after her birthday but for now it's been really great spending so much time with her and getting to know her.

My bosses seem to have lost their minds because they offered me a new position as Executive. Growing up it was always my dream to be an executive by the time I was 30 but my goals have changed so much since Danny and I started a family. I had mixed feelings about the promotion because I was afraid it would mean less time for my children but I was assured that I could work regular hours and do some extra work at home when needed. The extra money is very welcome so obviously I accepted the offer.

Malia and Greg Newman found out about Malia's pregnancy a couple of months ago. They're really excited about the baby but nobody is probably as excited as Greg's 11-year-old daughter Iona who can't wait to become a big sister for the second time within a few months.

Erin Parker has come to the hospital for an ultrasound. Doctor Sandra Williams is setting up the machine. Erin is 30 weeks pregnant so she only has a couple of months before giving birth.

Erin and Toby Parker have just moved into a bigger apartment with Erin's daughter Iona. Erin is now 18 weeks pregnant and she's feeling really well. She's decided to work as long as she can so that she can be home with the baby for a few months after giving birth.

Brooke has been pretty tense lately. I thought it might be because of work but one day during dinner she finally blurted out that she wants children.

"You mean right now?" I asked. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. Then she got up from the table and went to do the dishes. Apparently my attempt to humor wasn't so impressive to her. I've always thought that children are a definite part of our future. I guess she needed me to say it out loud.

We moved into our own house just before Molly was born. It was furnished with the basics so all we needed to do was buy cribs for the kids. I'm on maternity leave until next year so I'm home with two toddlers and a baby all day.

We had to take up a huge mortgage but I'm still happy that we did it. The house is awesome. It was designed by Danny's big brother Ben who designs most of the residential houses in Wellington nowadays since mom is concentrating more on public buildings. Ben designs nature-friendly houses so part of the electricity that we use is actually produced by our own solar panels.

Patsy and Camryn had their twins just a few weeks ago so it has taken some getting used to from all of us. It's been so long since there were babies in our house!

Hanna and Jared are real sweeties though and they both have Patsy's red hair and green eyes. The only thing we know about the donor is that he has blonde hair, blue eyes and light skin like Camryn. We'll have to wait some time before we can say who the babies look like. But then again I've always thought that Mia looks like Patsy and Camryn even though she's not biologically theirs.

Tom and I are trying to think of ways to make more money. We like our house but we want to get a bigger one. It doesn't feel so bad in the summer when we can spend time outside but it's hard to have guests over when there's barely room for the two of us. I even did lottery one week and won. But it was only €160 which isn't even half of my one day's salary so it didn't help a lot.
