Narrated by Lilly Fielding.
Living in the dorm isn't as awful as I expected. The other residents are alright and I actually get to study even in the cafeteria without being interrupted. It's nice because I don't want to stay in my room all the time.
Josh has a roommate so we hang out in my room for most of the time. Josh carries a ton of photography books home from the library every week and I read, well, just about everything.
Obviously we don't use all our time on studying. Last year I told Josh that I was ready to have sex but so far we haven't. We just sit on my sofa and cuddle.
We make out but that's as far as it goes. I think he's afraid to make the first move after I gave him the ultimatum back when we were in high school. I think I have to take matters into my own hands if I want something to happen.
Zach doesn't seem to have that problem. I was expecting to see lines of women coming and going but so far I've only seen one. Dawn told me that he had so much trouble with a girl who lives in the same dorm that he's taking it easy with the ladies this year. Josh says that the girl Zach's seeing works in photography because he remembers seeing her assisting in a photo shoot his class went to see last week.
Most of the times Zach has his nose buried in medical books though. He's determined to become a surgeon and needs to study hard to get into med school after graduation.
Since Josh and I are going to start having sex at some point I want to make sure there are no unwanted surprises. I went to the health clinic to see the doctor and get a prescription for birth control pills. For any procedures we still need to go to the hospital but it's great to have the clinic for smaller problems.
The clinic is open only one day a week so it's usually pretty crowded. Luckily I was one of the first to arrive so I didn't have to wait for long.
The doctor seemed really nice. It was kind of awkward to tell her I'm about to have sex with my boyfriend when there was a poster behind her back that said "sex has consequences". Yeah, don't I know that. My parents would freak out if I got pregnant at this age. And it's not like I'm ready to have children myself.
Of course I got the lecture that pills won't protect you against STDs but I explained that we're both virgins so we're healthy. She wrote me the prescription and off I went.
I went to the Campus Shops after my classes. I needed some new clothes but didn't find anything that I really liked at H&M's.
I also picked up a card for Emily since her birthday is next week. I won't be able to go see her because I have to study for the final exams so a card will have to do.
Josh and I met at Betty's Diner after his classes to grab a bite and spend some time outside the dorm.
He's really excited because next semester his class will start using the old-fashioned cameras and develop their own photos. So far they've been mostly studying theory and taking some photos with digital cameras. It's so great to see him so passionate about his studies. I know his parents worried that he might start slacking off but so far he's been studying really well.
I spend so much time on my computer in the evenings that sometimes I doze off while I'm typing. It feels like I've written a hundred essays already and now I'm working on my term paper. I've never studied this hard in my life but I kind of enjoy it.
All my hard work paid off because I got A+ on my final exam! Josh was pretty happy with his result as well although he didn't get an A. So far life in college has been so much fun.
Grades, spring 2023:
- Zach, physics/pre-medicine, B+, GPA 3.5
- Josh, art/photography, B+, GPA 3.3
- Lilly, education/literature, A+, GPA 4.0
Notes:
- Title reference: First spring day by Suburban Tribe.
- Lilly got the ROS "Errands - visit 3 community lots before the end of the day".
- The health clinic is part of my new building project. I've decided to re-build the hospital and place it in Exmoor. I will build a health clinic (slightly bigger than this one) in Wellington which will probably be used in future updates but my sims will have to go to the hospital to give birth and die.
- Betty's Diner is also a completely new building although the old Brixton University had Betty's Diner too. It was easier to build a new one from scratch than to tear down the old one. Lot tours are coming, slowly but surely. :)
The new lots look amazing and your students are doing so well in their studies
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I'm really inspired to build now that my game doesn't crash every 15 minutes.
DeleteI'm glad all the students did so well. I use the harder college grades hack so there's a good variety in the grades.
Thanks for reading. :)
I love the idea of having a health clinic on campus. We had one at my uni as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Lilly is so responsible about sex and Josh obviously took her really seriously back in high school if he still hasn't made another move! Hopefully when they do take that step, they'll know it's because they both felt totally ready.
I thought it would be nice to have a health clinic so that the students don't have to travel an hour to the hospital for some minor stuff.
DeleteI'm kind of anxious for something to happen with Lilly and Josh, lol! But at least her responsibility (and the ros) gave me the initial idea what to do with this update.
Thanks for reading. :)
Lilly is so adorable. I really like her hair. That's great that she's doing so well in school. Too funny about her visit to the clinic and having to ask about birth control pills while looking at a poster of a pregnant girl. Clinics/doctor's offices always have posters that freak me out. You gave me some ideas on different offices/buildings I'd like to put on campus now.
ReplyDeleteBetty's diner looks cute. It's so pink! I have yet to find a diner I really like. I have one in my uni hood but it needs just a tad bit of work.
I like Lilly a lot. She's so cute and fun to play. I thought it would be funny to have that poster in the doctor's office because probably most of the students come there with sex-related stuff.
DeleteI like how the new Betty's Diner turned out. The old one was pink as well but the new diner takes pink to a new level, lol!
Lily is super smart and good on her for planning. I can't wait to see if she'll jump on him. LOL
ReplyDeleteI think watching a teen mom from a very close distance has made Lilly really careful about birth control. It's not that she doesn't want children, she just doesn't want them right now. I'm sure she'll make a move soon if Josh doesn't, lol.
DeleteThanks for reading. :)
I like the idea of a health clinic. I'm alreadt planning on building a doctor's practice in SimsVille and DimSimTown, so that my sims don't have to go to the hospital every time they have the flu. But I never thought about having one at my uni as well. I might add one there as well :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that college is turning out so great for Lilly, she really seems to enjoy it.
I think you've done her ROS so well! I never had one like that, but I'm always looking around for idea's, in case I roll it :)
I thought it would be more realistic to have smaller health clinics than make my sims go to the hospital every time they need to see the doctor. My building spree has stopped for a moment though but hopefully I'll get something done during my extended christmas break.
DeleteI haven't had that ROS before but I was glad it was Lilly who rolled it because it was fairly easy to write for her. And I'm glad she only had to visit 3 places because I don't think that the university has more than that at the moment, lol.
Thanks for reading. :)
