Doctor Tori George keeps company for Alexa and Will while they wait for the lab results.
"High blood pressure can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia but we'll know more when we get the results back" Tori says. Will is horrified thinking that there might be something wrong. Alexa tries to put on a brave face but she's just as nervous.
Doctor Grace Cooper comes to Alexa's room and tells her that the tests looked good. However she's not taking any risks so she suggests that Alexa should stay in the hospital for a couple of days.
"You can go home if your condition doesn't get worse but you most definitely have to stay in bed rest even if you go home" Grace says and assures the parents-to-be that the baby is doing fine and will hopefully stay that way.
In the next room Grace checks on new born Lucas Callum Greene-Cooper and hands the healthy baby to his father Danny. Janie is still exhausted after giving birth but she's doing fine otherwise.
Janie and Danny can't wait to take their baby home!
Notes:
- I wanted to do something different for this birthday post. Alexa's doing fine so no worries there. She's still scheduled to have her baby in the Winter.
- It's a boy! Lucas has red hair and green eyes like his parents.
- Tori George is a townie who is in the medicine career. Wellington City Hospital definitely needed another doctor, poor Grace has been taking care of everything by herself.
Aww a little boy! What a perfect little family!! I'm excited to see him turn 1 and see his features.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everything is ok with Alexa.
Maisie, I can't wait to see what Lucas looks like either. I hope he's a good mix of his parents.
ReplyDeleteI like how you mixed it up a bit with Alexa but I'm also glad she's okay.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay, welcome little Lucas! I don't know why, but I was thinking they'd have another girl.
Carla, I thought it added a bit a realism because not all pregnancies are smooth sailing from the beginning to giving birth.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking they'd have a girl too! But a little boy is just perfect :)
You are absolutely right in your comment to Carla, not all pregnancies are smooth without any problems! I like how you did it with Alexa, and I'm really happy she's doing fine.
ReplyDeleteWelcome little Lucas!
Tanja, thank you :)

ReplyDeleteI hope that you don't mind my asking but where did you get some of your medical stuff. The look great.
